"The Wrong Address" is the first half of the 5th episode of Season 1 of Chowder and is the 9th episode overall.
Synopsis[]
During a seemingly normal delivery, Chowder's gut instincts lead him and Mung on a non-stop adventure through a strange and unfamiliar part of town. Will they make the delivery? Find out in this epic tie-in-with-the-next-episode adventure!
Plot[]
Mung and the gang finish making a Roast Most for a customer, and now he and Chowder need to deliver it. Once they get in the car to start driving, Mung gives Chowder a map with detailed instructions on how to get to the customer's home, but Chowder immediately eats it while Mung is explaining. Mung tells Chowder that they must now navigate by Chowder's gut instincts. Listening to his gut, Chowder leads Mung all across the city. As they drive, they see several police cars pass by. (These police cars are part of the plot of The Wrong Customer, which is going on at this same time.) They end up in a very strange and "sketchy" part of Marzipan City where neither of them have ever been before. When they reach one particular building, Chowder says his gut is telling him it's definitely the right address. Mung parks the car, and he tells Chowder they'll need to remember that they parked next to a mime.
They carry the Roast Most up the stairs of the building, where they find two doors. Mung asks Chowder which door his gut thinks is right, but part of the building immediately collapses and only leaves one choice. They knock on the door, but the man there says that he didn't order the roast and slams the door in their faces. Suddenly, an enormous rat bursts out of the wall, hissing and chasing Mung and Chowder back down the stairs to the sidewalk. Mung decides that they should get the Roast Most back to the car, but when they look next to a mime right there, the car is missing. They ask the mime if he saw what happened to the car, but mimes are silent. Mung notices a gang of odd-looking people and asks them about the car, but they only laugh at him. Losing his temper, Mung slaps the soda can out of one of the gang's hand, and the can coughs and gets up. The man angrily says that Mung "killed" the can (although it yelled that it was actually okay), so he tells the gang to "get him."
Mung and Chowder start running with the Roast Most, the gang and the hissing rat right behind them. Mung and Chowder stop a car and hitch a ride with a Pig Lady, telling her to just drive. The rat also hijacks a car and continues to chase after Mung and Chowder. The Pig Lady starts unloading a can of pepper spray on Mung, Chowder, and the Roast, revealing that she is a Pepper Spray Saleswoman and has an entire bag full of cans. The rat drives ahead and jumps into their car. Mung attacks it with pepper spray, only for it to spray him back, and soon everyone but the woman driving is sraying each other. Eventually, the Pig Lady is sprayed too, and she loses control, crashing into a parked car. It turns out they had driven in a circle, as this is revealed to be Mung's car. (It was still parked next to a mime, but apparently there were mimes on both sides of the street.) The rat finally catches up and speaks, saying he was the one who ordered the Roast Most all along and proving that Chowder's gut was actually right. The rat pays Mung, angrily leaving zero tip, only for the Pig Lady to take Mung's money for all of the pepper spray that was used, but she happily gives him one last spray as a "free sample" before leaving. Upon arriving back home, Mung and Chowder find the kitchen to be destroyed and Truffles being taken away by the police.
Trivia/Goofs[]
- When one of the thugs picks up the can after Mung knocks it out of his hand, he says something that sounds like "Screw you."
- The thug's weird speech is actually the lines that appear on screen, but recorded and reversed.
- In a foreign version of the episode, the thug's speech is instead played in fast-forward; in the Chinese dub, the thugs speak normally instead.
- The events of this episode and the next, The Wrong Customer, take place at the same time.
